Opportunities for Students

Rocky Mountain Robotics offers students more unique opportunities for hands-on learning and experience than most other clubs or sports. Students not only learn the skills required for their chosen trade specialty, they will also learn how to develop a project plan, work to a schedule, make design decisions, build a product within defined design limits (size, weight, budget and time) and test their products in a “real world” environment. They will also learn how to work in a team environment and how to communicate with others for the success of the team.

Students can specialize in many varied areas

Students will be taught how to use all of the tools necessary to be successful on the team—no special talent or prior experience is required, only a desire to learn. Students may elect to lead sub-teams or specialize in one of many areas including:

  • Robot design/construction
  • Web site design/maintenance
  • Computer animation
  • Photography/videography
  • Finance
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Community/media relations
